Turtle Lake, the last private lake in Oakland county is 40 acres and 80 feet at its deepest point. Only electric motors and pleasure craft like canoes and kayaks are allowed (no longer than 20 feet, no wider than 9 feet). The crisp, clear water is spring fed.

History
In the beginning, a wealthy family owned 315 acres in Oakland County known as Turtle Lake Farms. The property included a 211 acre parcel referred to as “The Homestead.”
The property was subsequently bequeathed to the Cathedral of St. Paul and the Episcopal Diocese. In 1983, the property was sold to a prominent developer who renovated the existing buildings.
David V. Johnson purchased the property in 2000. Originally approved for 277 home sites, Johnson, a developer known for sculpting world-class communities in harmony with the environment, reduced the density and created 107 home sites which became the prestigious Turtle Lake community.
